Teacher Standards

Only certified Kama Flight and Kama Floor teachers may lead a class, workshop, or jam using our name, curriculum, and IP. Certification is registered with Yoga Alliance as a YACEP continuing education course, and it requires more than attendance — here's exactly what it takes.

Teacher Training participants practicing teaching sessions

Certification Requirements

  • Complete the full 4-day, 8-hour-per-day in-person Teacher Training immersion.
  • Complete every Kama At Home Teacher's Edition digital class.
  • Pass a verbal cuing exam for both Base and Voyager roles.
  • Pass a physical execution exam in the Base role.
  • Pass a written exam.
  • Submit proof of any relevant prior certification (200-hour yoga, massage license, etc., where applicable).
  • Sign the Certified Teacher Agreement.

Attending training is not, by itself, a guarantee of certification — all requirements above must be completed and passed.

Yoga Alliance Continuing Education

Kama Flight Teacher Training is a registered YACEP course, awarding: 12 hours for Techniques, Training, and Practice (Contact); 10 hours for Teaching Methodology (Contact); and 8 hours for Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle, and Ethics (Non-contact).

What Training Covers

  • Day 1: Philosophy, body mechanics, stretch series movements.
  • Day 2: Partner dynamics, Dance and Fly series movements, teaching support.
  • Day 3: Trauma sensitivity and safety, advanced sequences and transitions.
  • Day 4: Practice teaching sessions, final exams.

After Certification

Certification lasts one year and is renewed annually. Certified teachers can lead classes, workshops, and jams using Kama Flight IP, and studio partners receive tables and marketing support once classes are scheduled.

Ongoing Accountability

Every certified teacher agrees to uphold our Code of Conduct in every session they lead. Reports of violations are taken seriously and can result in loss of certification — see our Code of Conduct for how that process works.
