Physical Readiness

Kama Flight and Kama Floor involve shared weight-bearing, balance, and lifts. Being honest about your physical readiness — with yourself and your instructor — is part of how we keep the practice safe for everyone in the room.

Instructor guiding a participant through a supported movement

Before You Begin

  • Consult a healthcare provider before starting if you're pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, or have a cardiovascular, joint, or musculoskeletal condition.
  • All in-person experiences require participants to be 21 or older.
  • Arrive sober — alcohol and drugs are not permitted before or during practice (see our Code of Conduct).

Tell Your Instructor

Disclose any injury, condition, or physical limitation to your instructor before a session begins. This is standard practice for every class, workshop, and Teacher Training — not optional, and never judged. It's the single most useful piece of information an instructor can have to modify movements safely for you.

How We Modify

Instructors offer alternative postures and additional support for range-of-motion or strength limitations. No-fly zones and structured check-ins add further layers of physical safety on top of any individual modifications — see our full Safety Standards.

Session-Length Guidance

A typical partnered exchange runs 5–15 minutes. We recommend no more than 90 minutes of practice in a single day without breaks.

A Note on Scope

Kama Flight is a wellness and movement practice, not medical treatment or physical therapy. It does not replace professional medical or mental health care, and anyone managing a physical or psychological condition should consult a qualified provider before beginning.
